Oh, man, yet another watch I want to own. This Gubelin Protractor has an off-beat design that appeals to me. How to read this watch: The long golden arrow is the minute hand. The black arrow on the protractor is the hour hand. And the large double tipped, silver “dagger” is the seconds sweep hand. It just goes around and around, as the protractor creeps along. I wish there was a video so I could see this watch move. Gubelin is a high class jeweler, so the watch was actually made by Juvenia, as it says on the run-of-the-mill movement. But the attraction here surely is the dial. I even like the small minute and gold hour markers at the edge of the dial. A nice design touch. A little small by today’s standards (33mm), but surely not a watch that you see everyday (Rolex, anyone?). Sales text states that Johnny Depp owns a gold version of this watch, which I guess is a better endorsement that Sylvester Stallone for U-Boat or Panerai. Man, I wish I had the $2,295 to drop on this find from WatchesToBuy.Com.
