About

I love watches. I love the way they look, the way they work, the stories behind them. I've had people call me a watch-a-holic. I'm constantly looking for "new" vintage watches to buy and thought I would use these pages to show the best finds of the day. But, you better act fast before I buy it out from under you!

Looking for something specific?

Check out the wooden basketball case on this Audemars Piguet (AP) Shaquille O’Neal limited edition watch.  One of these watches will also be on auction during the Antiquorum watch auction on Nov. 13th in Geneva.  Given the colors of the watch (red and black) this must have been released during his Miami Heat heydays.  The one thing I really like about this watch is the reversal of the “2” and “3” to be able to put his uniform # “32” on the dial. This is a big piece at 48mm wide and I’m sure it wears larger than that. I’m not sure why the auction states it is limited to 20 pieces because in stainless steel it was released in a “limited edition” of 960 pieces.  The AP Royal Oak Offshore watches are cool and slightly expensive, but I’d be surprised if it reached the high auction value they expect of $30,000-$33,000.  It’s one of AP’s fine chronograph, self-winding movements with a 21K gold rotor.  All in all a fine luxury piece commemorating one of the poorest free-throw shooters ever to grace the NBA.  (Ok, ok, I know he scored plenty of points as field goals and rebounds etc…, just couldn’t resist that dig!)
